Dr. Sudip Biswas

Associate Professor, Dept. of ECE, IIIT Guwahati

Sudip Biswas (Member, IEEE) received his Ph.D. in digital communications from the University of Edinburgh (UEDIN), U.K., in 2017. From 2017 to 2019, he worked as a Research Associate with the Institute of Digital Communications, UEDIN, focusing on optimization and signal processing for 5G and beyond communications. He also has industrial experience as an Assistant Systems Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services, India (Lucknow and Kolkata) during 2010–2012. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIITG). He serves as an editor for the IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking (TGCN). He was a member of the Conference Organizing Committee of the IEEE International Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications (SPAWC) held in Edinburgh in 2016. Sudip has been on the Technical Program Committee (TPC) of "Selected Areas in Communications: Machine Learning for Communications" in IEEE GLOBECOM 2020–2023 and was a TPC member of IEEE ICC 2022 for the "Full-duplex Communications" track. He has contributed to two EU FP7 projects, a DST UKIERI project, and an EPSRC project. Currently, he leads three SERB projects, one DST (GITA: Indo-Taiwan) project, one SPARC (UKIERI) project as Principal Investigator, and one IBITF (TSP) project as Co-PI. Additionally, he received the SERB Accelerate Vigyan Karyashala grant in 2022 and the Vritika grant in 2024. He also coordinates the MoUs signed between IIIT Guwahati and National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan, and between IIIT Guwahati and "n+i", France. At IIIT Guwahati, he is the In-charge of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Cell.
